Be aware of the space that allows everything to be. Listen to the sounds; don’t judge them.
Eckhart Tolle – The Power of Now Journal.
This is profound. I have been working on this approach for a while now. Becoming aware of the place (space,) where the business of the thoughts in my mind are speaking. I listen but I do not entertain (judge) them.
This is that most wonderful space of being, in other words, the authentic me. The authentic me is the me in a space where I am not touched by activities outside of me. It is a deeply peaceful space. I float with the world without being sucked into the world.
Sitting on the Bank of a briskly flowing river, I saw a leaf fall off a tree. The leaf looked like it would fly over the river onto the opposite Bank. Instead, it fell into the river and was swept up into the mainstream current. It bobbed up and down on the ripples as it seemed to dodge the rocks. Later, recollecting the scene, I thought to myself the moment the leaf left the tree, it had no control over its direction. It allowed first the wind, then the river, to direct it. That leaf had fallen into a state of being.

Listen to the silence underneath the sounds. Touch something – and feel and acknowledge its Being.
Eckhart Tolle The Power of Now Journal
Even though I was listening to the sounds around me, I did not entertain them; I only listened to them. Then I touched the grass on which I was sitting, and as I felt the grass, I became aware of its damp and smooth sense. As my sense of feeling communicated the physical nature of the grass, I acknowledged its being by expressing my gratitude for having grasses to feel and smell.

This is such a beautiful reflection on being present and connected to the world around us. The analogy of the leaf falling into the river and surrendering to the flow is so powerful. It reminds us to listen, observe, and appreciate the simple things in life, like the sounds and sensations of nature. Eckhart Tolle’s wisdom shines through in this piece, and it’s inspiring to see how it has influenced your perspective. Keep embracing that peaceful space of being and sharing your insights!
