Possible

My dreams are not born of passivity but rather through passionate emotions for their realization.

Failure has never truly hurt me; what did hurt was not claiming back what I had lost.

The real power in my life comes from within, and I’m pleased about this, as no one can ever take it from me.

One day I saw a little red Poppy, standing proudly, in all its glory, having grown through a crack in the pavement along a busy street in a city. It was a lesson for me; nothing is impossible.

This little poppy was so beautiful; if she had have been human, I would have said she was gorgeous. There, between two dirty grey concrete slabs on a busy sidewalk, she made her home. She had grown out of the soil grouting between the slabs. The poppy had waited for moisture from the sky, and in the soil and humidity, she had nurtured herself.

We can overcome anything.

Despite all the elements against her, she had reached full maturity. How she had survived to this point could only have been a miracle. But the next day, on my way to the office, I saw she was gone. Did someone pick her and take her to an office desk, or was she trampled on? Perhaps the street sweeper pulled her up like a weed and tossed her in his bin. I have no idea.

We can rise into our glory.

I thought about her much after spending a little time of admiration in her presence. the little flower grew from a seed in a tiny amount of soil between two paving slabs. This poppy relied on elements other than herself to nurture in the dark and then blossom forth into the sunlight one day. She had no choice about the place of her birth or how she would grow and survive. Finally, she rose to face the world in all her glory and left having impacted those who saw her so briefly.

See what Carla has to say about rising above our circumstances.
